MOSCOW. PJSC “RussNeft” announced that it had obtained 100-tonne daily flow rate at Sredne-Shapshinskoye field, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Region.
“In the course of testing of Bazhenov Formation, RussNeft obtained a flow rate of 100 tonnes per day at Sredne-Shapshinskoye field”, says the press release of the company.
Bazhenov Formation (a group of petroliferous rock beds) in West Siberia contains tight oil. As Rosnedra previously reported, oil reserves at the Bazhenov formation were estimated at 10–30 billion tonnes.
Slick Water hybrid hydraulic fracturing undertaken in well testing has secured a steady natural flow of crude oil. The company intends to continue drilling into Bazhenov formation.
Back in 2009, RussNeft stated that it considered the development of Shapshinskaya oilfield group as a strategically important project. The development of Nizhne-Shapshinskoye, Sredne-Shapshinskoye and Verkhne-Shapshinskoye fields is conducted by producing subsidiary of RussNeft - OAO NAK Aki-Otyr. Sredne-Shapshinskoye field was brought into production in May 2009. Estimates suggest that oil reserves at the Bazhenov reservoir at Sredne-Shapshinskoye field amount to as much as 40 million tonnes.
PJSC “RussNeft” ranks among the Top-6 largest oil companies by crude oil production in Russia.
