Professionals from OAO MPK Aganneftegazgeologia (the subsidiary of PJSC “RussNeft”) are preparing to participate in the meeting between UN indigenous experts and members of industrial communities, operating on the territories of traditional nature use of the indigenous peoples of KhMAO-Yugra.
The meeting will took place within the framework of visiting intersessional meeting of the Human Rights Council’s Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, which is to be held in Khanty-Mansi autonomous district - Yugra in March.
The organisers of the meeting have taken into consideration the positive experience of engaging with indigenous peoples of the Russian North. The scope of industrial interests of the Company includes the lands located in territories of traditional nature use of 52 Yugra indigenous families. On the basis of agreements concluded with each family living on tribal lands, acquisition of the materials, equipment, fuel and lubricants needed for the forest camp living, is sponsored. In 2016, the company directed more than 12 million rubles for compensatory payments to indigenous peoples living within the license areas, which are developed by OAO MPK Aganneftegazgeologiya.
