The football club Neftyanik was established in 2003 in the urban-type settlement of Novospasskoye, Ulyanovsk Region, with the support of PJSC “RussNeft”. Since its inception, the company has provided ongoing patronage to the club. Neftyanik trains more than 200 children aged 7 to 17. It is the only club in the region where training, sportswear, equipment, and participation in all competitions are completely free of charge for its members. Over the years, FC Neftyanik’s young players have become winners and medalists at regional, national, and international tournaments.
The football club annually represents the Ulyanovsk Region in the finals of the All-Russian Youth Football Tournament "Leather Ball – Youth Football League"—the largest and oldest youth football tournament in Russia—and the Volga Federal District in the finals of the All-Russian project "Mini-Football to School" in Nizhny Novgorod, which brings together the strongest teams in the country. They are also medalists of the All-Russian Festival of Children's Yard Football in Cheboksary.
The club's teams of various age groups participate in and win traditional annual competitions, including: the All-Russian tournament for amateur, yard teams, and sports/educational organization clubs in mini-football "Proryv" in Adler, the All-Russian football tournament "Spartak Summer Cup" in Anapa, the All-Russian youth football tournament "Finist Summer Cup" in Tuapse, the interregional children's football tournament "Victory Cup" in Volgograd, the All-Russian children's football tournament "Battle of the Regions" in Syzran, the annual children's football tournament "Football Syzran", the All-Russian children's football tournament "Young Talents" in Syzran, the All-Russian Festival of Children's Yard Football "Metroshka", the Interregional Spring Mini-Football Cup for children's teams in Inza, the "Vakhitov Cup" mini-football tournaments in Kazan, the interregional mini-football tournament "Open Volga Cup in memory of Konstantin Yeremenko" in Khvalynsk, the Open Cup of Football Club "Motor" in Kazan, and the Interregional Children's Football Tournament "Neftyanik Cup" in Novospasskoye.
