RussNeft expands its climate agenda

PJSC “RussNeft” has registered its climate project in the Carbon Units Registry. The Russian Energy Agency of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation issued a project validation report. The project is being implemented at the Tagrinskoye field and is aimed at the reducing greenhouse gas emissions through the development of its own power generation using APG. Last year, RussNeft commissioned a gas piston power generation plant at the Tagrinskoye field. Due to the beneficial use of associated petroleum gas for electricity generation, 401,340 carbon units will be generated over 10 years. In 2021, the Federal Law "On Limiting Greenhouse Gas Emissions" was adopted, the purpose of which is to create conditions for the sustainable and balanced development of the Russian economy while gradually reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
