PJSC "RussNeft" allocates RUB 20 mln to support Ugra indigenous peoples

PJSC "RussNeft" allocated above RUB 20 mln in 2021 for compensatory payments to the small indigenous peoples of the North.

PJSC "RussNeft" Nizhnevartovsk branch extracts hydrocarbons within Nizhnevartovsk and Surgut districts, KhMAO-Yugra, namely on the lands attributed on the 10 territories for traditional nature management of 59 indigenous families.

Compensatory payments are designated for the purchase of equipment, construction materials, fuel and other stock needed in forest camps.

The compensatory agreements are not the only an example of mutually beneficial cooperation between oil workers and indigenous communities of the North. This year the Company provided financial support to the Inter-settlement Center of Ethnic Handicrafts and Trades (Agan village, Nizhnevartovsky district), as well as to international proficiency competition among reindeer herders, scheduled for late 2021 under the program of social and economic development of the territory.

PJSC "RussNeft" will continue funding programs aimed at supporting and preserving the authentic culture, traditions and customs of the indigenous peoples of Ugra.
