“Belkamneft” completed new equipment testing.

14.05.2010 "Udmnews"

Izhevsk. OAO “Belkamneft”, a subsidiary of OAO NK “Russneft”, successfully completed commercial testing of heat generator VTG-110 at a hazardous production facility, the company reports.

This equipment heats oil during delivery operations at pipeline metering station “Malaya Purga”, providing the required viscosity (not more than 90 centistokes) of delivered oil for JSC “Transneft” system. This allows to diverge from heating oil by line heaters at the end of the pipeline and, thus, minimize expenses on hydrocarbon crude production.
Heat generator VTG-110 testing was conducted at OAO “Belkamneft” pipeline metering station “Malaya Purga” in the harsh winter period of 2009-2010. Test results showed a number of advantages of the new equipment as compared with the previously used oil heating systems. First of all, it’s a low cost of a unit with the simplicity of design and the ability to use in a certain limited area. It should also be noted that the new equipment allows oil heating directly in the process of delivery and acceptance operations, which makes the technological process the most efficient.
According to the results of the tests Rostekhnadzor (Russian Technical Supervisory Authority) permitted to apply heat generator VTG-110 at hazardous production facilities. In future the practice of applying this equipment will be also used at other pipeline metering stations instead of expensive and metal consuming oil heating systems.
