The company announced that it will expand its reforestation activities by an additional 171 hectares in 2026. Since 2017, RussNeft has planted over 3,272,000 saplings across 875 hectares. Furthermore, the company has carried out silvicultural maintenance—including care for both previously planted and newly planted trees—covering an area of 264 hectares.
In its forest regeneration work, the company utilizes a diverse range of improved seeds, specifically selected for their adaptability to the local environmental conditions of each planting site. In Siberia, the restoration process primarily involves the use of pine saplings, which are cultivated in nurseries until they reach a height of 12–20 centimeters.
The reforestation program is being implemented in areas where forestry authorities have authorized tree clearing to facilitate the construction of oil production infrastructure.
The company emphasizes its commitment to strict compliance with environmental legislation and the prevention of any negative impact on the environment resulting from its operations. In regions where industrial activity takes place, the company has established and continues to strengthen close cooperation with regional administrations and local enterprises as part of a broader socio-economic partnership.
Environmental responsibility is a strategic priority for the oil industry—an investment in the future. Major industry players are allocating funds to "green" projects aimed at minimizing environmental harm, in alignment with national policy under the federal "Forest Conservation" project, which, as of 2025, has been incorporated into the "Environmental Well-being" initiative. Its primary goal is to preserve and expand Russia’s “green wealth”—ensuring that the area of restored forest consistently exceeds the area of forest that has been logged or lost.
