SIBUR will increase the capacity of Vyngapurovsky gas processing plant 50% to receive RussNeft APG

18.03.2014 PRIME-TASS

Moscow. SIBUR approved a decision on implementation of a project for Vyngapurovsky gas processing plant expansion (Yamalo-Nenetsky aoutonomous district) to increase its capacity from 2.8 bcm to 4.2 bcm in order to accommodate processing of APG from NK RussNeft fields.

For this purpose, the plan is to lay a gas pipeline of over 100 km from the Variogan compressor station to Vyngapurovsky gas processing plant and upgrade the Variogan compressor station.

“SIBUR continues to widen cooperation with oil and gas companies to strengthen its competition position in gas processing. The long-term agreement with RussNeft results in larger supplies of raw materials allowing to commence expansion of the actual capacities”, Dmitry Konov, Director General of SIBUR, stated.

The oil company is one of the APG suppliers for SIBUR’s Nizhnevartovsk and Belozerny gas processing plants. In 2013, SIBUR and RussNeft signed a new long-term agreement on APG supplies through 2015. According to the agreement, RussNeft will supply SIBUR with APG from Varioganneft oil fields, and SIBUR will receive and process the corresponding volumes of gas. About 16 bcm are expected to be supplied within the stated period.

In September 2012, SIBUR started up Vyngapurovsky gas processing plant which was built based on the same-name compressor station. The APG processing capacity of the plant was 2.8 bcm. Gazprom neft is currently the principal supplier of APG to Vyngapurovsky gas processing plant.
