AKI-OTYR continues implementing environmental activities

Khanty-Mansiysk. OAO NAK AKI-OTYR, OAO NK RussNeft subsidiary, started liquidation of pits at Shapshinskiye fields.

Technical stage of three pits reinstatement was performed within the environmental program at Verkhne-Shapshinskoye and Nizhne-Shapshinskoye fields. The reinstatement land area makes up 3.6 ha, the volume of the sludge recycled reached 15 760 cub. m. The biological stage of reinstatement will be performed within spring and autumn period 2014.

Within the land reinstatement activities the technology of processing the drilling sludge into construction material is applied. The readymade material may be used as filled soil during pit reinstatement, backfill, reinforcement of pads bands, as well as strengthening of in-field roads, access roads from pads and pads facilities. Apart from that, starting from the next year the company plans drilling waste recycle along with the drilling process. This method of waste control will allow to control pollution and to make the production process safer.

 

AKI-OTYR management devotes special attention to environmental control in the region of operation. Fulfillment of obligations, standards and norms in the area of HSE in compliance with System of Management of international standards ISO 14001: 2004 and OHSAS 18001: 2007 is a part of an extended OAO NK RussNeft policy. This work will be continued in 2014.
