Nizhnevartovsk, KhMAO-Yugra. OAO MPC Aganneftegasgeologia abd ZAO ST GOLOIL (subsidiaries of OAO NK RussNeft) are completing implementation of the program of compensatory payments to indigenous peoples of the North. In 2012 more than 2 million rubles was assigned for the needs of the families living in traditional fashion.
Business territories of subsidiaries of NK RussNeft include areas belonging to tribal lands of 28 indigenous Yugra families. On the basis of model agreements signed with each of the families, dwelling on the tribal lands, funds are assigned for purchasing of the things necessary for living in camping-grounds: lubricants, special cloths, autonomous power stations, snowmobiles etc.
Model agreements signing and compensatory payments for the usage of the territories of traditional use of natural resources is not the only positive example of mutually profitable cooperation of oilmen and the indigenes. Within the frames of social and economic agreements which are annually signed between the administration of the Nizhnevartovsk region and the enterprises incorporated in the holding RussNeft programs of development the modern Variogan village are financed, In 2012 more than 300 thousand rubles was assigned for implementation of social programs. The funds will be spent for celebration of the 25th jubilee of Variogan ethnographic park-museum and upgrading of material and technical equipment of the kindergarten “Olenionok” (“Fawn”) and Variogan division of Novoagansk Children’s Art School.
